The Pharmaceutical Business Development & Licensing Group was founded  out of the desire to encourage interactions between pharmaceutical, biotech, drug delivery companies, venture capital and universities to speed up the cycle of getting drugs approved in order to improve the lives of patients with various conditions.

 
Too often, the meetings and forums became about the organizing bodies rather than meeting the needs of the BD&L community.  By trying to be all things to all people, some associations have become so diffuse in their efforts that the meetings are becoming less valuable,  Also, almost nothing is done between meetings to help make connections, gain new understandings or gain new leads.
